World Art Dubai | May 2 – 5, 2024

World Art Dubai is a highly international art fair with a character quite distinct from MIDA in Firenze, where we exhibited the previous year. Reflecting Dubai’s role as a global crossroads, the fair attracts a diverse audience from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, the United States, and beyond, welcoming more than 11,000 visitors over the course of the event.
Scenes reminiscent of a museum gallery unfolded throughout the day, as people naturally gathered in front of the artworks, and the steady flow of visitors kept us fully engaged from morning to evening.

ワールドアートドバイは、前年に出展したフィレンツェのMIDAとはまったく異なる性格を持つ、国際色豊かなアートフェアです。中東、アジア、ヨーロッパ、アメリカなど、ドバイという土地柄を反映し、世界各国から多様なバックグラウンドを持つ人々が集まります。
弊社のブースには、フィレンツェでの展示と同様に、作品をじっくりと鑑賞する人々が次々と足を止め、美術館の展示室の前に人だかりができるかのような光景が広がり、対応が追いつかないほど、終日多くの来場者で賑わいました。

Throughout the fair, we had the opportunity to meet people of many nationalities and cultural backgrounds and to share the appeal of Japan’s traditional craftsmanship. Many visitors were encountering Nishijin weaving for the first time, and we received numerous words of admiration from those who were deeply impressed by the delicacy and beauty of textiles made in Japan.
In addition to Nishijin textile artworks, we also presented kimono dresses, which were very well received. The exhibition highlighted the versatility of traditional Japanese materials and techniques, demonstrating their ability to be appreciated globally through contemporary expressions.

会期中は毎日、国籍も文化も異なる多くの方々と出会い、日本が誇る伝統工芸の魅力についてお伝えする機会に恵まれました。中には西陣織をまったく知らない方も多く、メイド・イン・ジャパンの織物が持つ繊細さや美しさに初めて触れ、驚きとともに称賛の言葉を寄せてくださる場面が数多く見られました。
また、今回は西陣織アートに加え、着物ドレスも展示・紹介しましたが、こちらも非常に高い評価を得ることができ、日本の伝統的な素材と技術が、現代的な表現としても国際的に通用する可能性を強く感じる展示となりました。
