La Mostra Internazionale dell’Artigianato di Firenze | April 25 - May 1, 2023

MIDA (Mostra Internazionale dell’Artigianato) is one of the world’s most renowned international craft exhibitions, held in Firenze for nearly 90 years. Each year, the fair welcomes 60,000 to 70,000 visitors, drawing not only local Italians but also audiences from across Europe and around the world, and is widely recognized for both its long history and its scale.
The Nishijin textile artworks presented by our company attracted significant attention for their depth of beauty unique to woven textiles, as well as for the exceptionally high level of craftsmanship evident in every detail. The response from European visitors in particular exceeded our expectations, allowing us to strongly reaffirm the deep interest in Japanese traditional crafts.

MIDAは、フィレンツェで約90年にわたり開催されてきた世界有数の国際工芸展です。地元イタリアの人々はもちろん、ヨーロッパ各国や世界各地から来場者が集い、毎年6〜7万人が訪れる、歴史と規模を誇る展示会として知られています。
弊社が出展した西陣織アートは、織物ならではの奥行きある美しさと、細部にまで行き届いた高度な技術によって、多くの来場者の関心を集めました。とりわけヨーロッパの方々の反応は想像以上に熱く、日本の伝統工芸に対する関心の高さを強く実感する機会となりました。

When Italian staff members began explaining Nishijin weaving as "one of Japan’s representative traditional crafts with a history spanning over a thousand years," people naturally gathered around. Visitors paused to listen attentively, capturing the works and the explanations through photographs and videos. This scene continued throughout the entire week, from the opening day to the final day, and the venue remained vibrant and animated at all times.
We were also deeply moved by the many warm words we received, encouraging us to preserve and carry forward this remarkable Japanese cultural heritage. The experience once again made us keenly aware of Nishijin weaving’s ability to resonate with people across borders and cultures.

会場でイタリア人スタッフが、「千年の歴史を持つ、日本を代表する伝統工芸・西陣織」について説明を始めると、その周囲には自然と人々が集い、足を止めた人々は熱心に耳を傾けながら、写真や映像を記録していきました。そうした光景は初日から最終日まで一週間にわたり続き、会場は終始活気に包まれていました。
また、多くの方から「この素晴らしい日本の伝統文化を、ぜひ未来へ守り続けてほしい」という温かい言葉をいただき、西陣織が国境を越えて人の心に響く力を持っていることを、改めて実感することとなりました。
