This work expresses a wave motif from the wall paintings of Miei-dō at Tōshōdaiji Temple in Nara through the art of Nishijin weaving.

Layers of waves and white crests rising from a deep ultramarine blue are intricately woven into the textile. Through its rich colors and delicate weaving, the work captures both the power and tranquility of the sea.
