Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (After Katsushika Hokusai) - Tapestry
Dimensions
Inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s celebrated series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, this design arranges its diverse landscapes within the shapes of folding fans. Scenes of Mount Fuji viewed from various locations, powerful waves, travelers, and glimpses of everyday life come together across a single obi.
Woven in Nishijin using gold threads as its foundation, each scene is expressed through intricate weaving. This maru obi brings together one of Japan’s most iconic ukiyo-e series with the traditional craftsmanship of Nishijin weaving, resulting in a work rich in color and detail.
