Thirteen Buddhas and the Heart Sutra - Hanging Scroll

Dimensions

W73.5 × H195 cm

This hanging scroll reproduces the "Heart Sutra," traditionally attributed to Kūkai, together with the Thirteen Buddhas and Bodhisattvas venerated in memorial rites for one's ancestors. The striking contrast between the brilliance of gold leaf and the deep black of the ink lends the piece a dignified, solemn presence.
