「唐花（からはな）」金の額
京都・西陣の織匠、平居幹央氏が手がけた西陣織を、額装作品として仕立てました。
金糸を基調とした織地に、青や緑、朱、紫などの色糸で唐花文様を織り込んでいます。唐花は、特定の花を写実的に表したものではなく、さまざまな植物の姿を組み合わせて意匠化した伝統的な文様です。古くから織物や染物、陶磁器など幅広い工芸品に用いられてきました。
華やかな金糸の中に色とりどりの唐花が浮かび上がり、金の額が織地の色調と調和して、作品全体を華やかにまとめています。
Karahana Nishijin-ori Framed Artwork with Gold Frame
This Nishijin-ori textile was created by Mikio Hirai, a Nishijin weaver based in Kyoto, and presented as a framed artwork.
The textile features a gold thread base woven with a Karahana motif in shades of blue, green, vermilion, and purple. Karahana is a traditional decorative motif that does not depict any specific flower realistically, but instead combines and stylizes various botanical forms. It has long been used in a wide range of traditional crafts, including textiles, dyed fabrics, and ceramics.
The vibrant Karahana motifs stand out against the gold threads, while the gold frame complements the tones of the textile and enhances the overall richness of the artwork.
